A CONVERSATION WITH SAASTOCK’S IRINA DZHAMBAZOVA

In December, 2018, the Women’s Work Institute designed and co-hosted the first ever SaaS conference designed to connect the dots between equality, effectiveness and prosperity.

SAAS-E[quality] brought together 100 diverse stakeholders from the SaaS ecosystem, from founders, CEOs and VCs to front-stack developers and HR professionals.

UK-based SaaStock - one of the globe’s largest and far-reaching SaaS conference circuits - sponsored SAAS-E, and their Diversity and Inclusion lead, Irina Dzhambazova delivered one of the many provocative* lightning talks on the day.

*Irina’s talk was so provocative that it inspired heated debate on the day, and an attendee - Kyle Duncan - wrote us a reflection after the event. You can read it HERE.

The day after SAAS-E, we (Anna and Kristen, founders of Women’s Work and Sum Strategy) sat down with Irina in a borrowed space - the cozy downtown Toronto condo of some friends - and recorded a podcast for SaaStock Revolution.

In our conversation with Irina, we discussed topics including:

  • What problems SaaS leaders experience when it comes to D&I

  • Why diversity and inclusion remains an unsolved issue

  • How each business that gets to a clear “Why diversity matters to our business?” will be more effective
